Sailor Moon: Set 1 (TV) - Release Details

VIZ Media has detailed the Blu-ray release of Sailor Moon: Set 1. The first volume of the classic 1992-97 anime features series episodes 1-23, includes an 88-page full-color premium booklet, and arrives on Blu-ray on November 11th. Additional sets will follow, until the complete 200-episode series has been released.

Synopsis: Usagi Tsukino is a cheerful 14-year-old schoolgirl who often finds herself in unwanted trouble. One day, she saves a talking cat named Luna from some mean kids, and her life is changed forever. Luna gives Usagi a magic brooch that transforms her into Sailor Moon, defender of love and justice! Now Usagi must work with Luna to find the other Sailor Guardians and the Moon Princess, whose Legendary Silver Crystal is Earth's only hope against the dark forces of the evil Queen Beryl.

Like Ranma ½, the Sailor Moon Limited Edition Blu-ray sets will feature the series' original, uncropped 4:3 aspect ratio, uncut remastered video and several audio options, including a complete English dub with a new voice cast. Of particular note, Viz's licensing rights encompass the series' final season, "Sailor Stars," all threeSailor Moon films, and Sailor Moon Crystal (2014), the upcoming 26-episode adaptation of the original manga.

Sailor Moon: Set 1 is presented in 1080p with lossless English and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio tracks and English subtitles. Special features include:
